About Department

The Department of Marathi was established since the inception of the College. The department offers Marathi at UG level at special and general level. The Department of Marathi has a long tradition of good teachers that has resulted into successful attainment of the aims and objectives set before. The main objectives of the Department are :- ? To study the basic skills of Marathi language. ? To study of characteristics of various forms of Marathi literature i.e. folk literature, Novel, Poetry, drama, Autobiography, Biography, Short story etc. ? To go through the all forms of literature with the help of text books and their criticism. ? To achieve the communication skill as well as the writing skill by studying applied Marathi. ? To know the life sketch of well known authors and their contribution to Marathi literature. ? To develop inter disciplinary approach (i.e. comparative literature and language)
